Jenni's story

Jenni is a maize farmer from the rural area of Kaduna, a state located in northern Nigeria. She looks forward to earning higher profits from farming. As a member of Babban Gona, Jenni has access to high-quality inputs and enhanced farming services that help to increase her yields. Furthermore, through training programs, Jenni now practices farming in a more sustainable manner. For example, the fertilizer education Jenni receives focuses on micro-dosing fertilizers to lessen environmental impact and increase yields. Jenni expects to reap 35 bags per hectare, or double the national Nigerian average of 18 bags per hectare from this year's harvest.

The Harvest Advance loan will provide Jenni with a cash equivalent to the value of her maize at harvest. Babban Gona will help Jenni by storing her maize and selling it at a higher price in the future, thus guaranteeing higher returns. This is crucial to Jenni as she plans on using the profit from this harvest to open an agro-dealer shop.
