Teresa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as high-quality seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer, to increase her production so she can support her family.

Teresa's story

Teresa (64) is a smallholder farmer who lives in Kitale, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in crop farming. She has a beautiful family, and she ensures that they have a decent lifestyle. She is a farmer who also rears dairy cattle. She gets income from selling her produce in her local market.

Teresa is seeking a loan to buy fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides for her farm. She plans to improve the quality of her produce to enable her to sell more and increase her profits. She plans to sell her quality produce at prices high enough to fund all the expenses incurred plus generate a profit. She is confident that she will be able to repay the loan in time because of her unique customer relationship skills.

The returns from the investment will change her life and that of her entire household, as she will use the additional income to raise her standard of living. Teresa has a great desire to succeed, and hopes the Kiva lenders will listen to her request and help her better her life. She thanks her lenders for their generous support.
