Malik's story

I was born in October in Columbus, Ohio. Learning early from my mother who was a vocalist in the music industry, I knew I wanted to sing, and write music. I wanted to act and produce film and books. Growing up in Columbus at a time where gang and drug violence peaked in the early 90’s, I had a choice early to make on what path to choose. I was able to express the struggles and hardships of everyday life in my art & music rather than following into the trouble. When I was twelve years old I worked at a barbershop getting paid $10.00 a day, sometimes with added tips. This started my genuine infatuation with being independent and bringing my dreams to life, to know I could run my own business. Learning I can achieve anything I think of as long as I WORK HARD and SMART! What motivates me ultimately is the fact I can empower and touch people with my own strength through my struggles. Seeing a lot of problems and issues I once grew up in many are still going through I use my platform to empower and inspire. I have people telling me a lot how watching me or being around me brings happiness to them or a power that all their problems can be defeated! Proving you can always make it if you keep eyes on the price. This makes me love what I do and keeps me motived!
