A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving and also help with her family.

Lipina's story

Lipina is a 51-year-old mother of five children and a wife to a farmer. They live in their own home on the island of Ha'apai. Lipina is a weaver, and she joins with a group of women in their village. They weave fihu, taovala and mats, then sell them to earn money for their families.

For many years, she has run this business and her family benefits. She is a very responsible mother who works for the benefit of her family and not selfish. She earns money from her weaving to repay her loan successfully. She is applying for a loan and hoping to use the loan money to purchase enough pandanus for her weaving. A key factor affecting her business is sometimes not having enough materials such as pandanus. She will also use some of her loan money on family function.
