Benkadi Group's story

A Malien man, Drissa is aged 40, married and the father of five children of whom three are at school. His children are aged between 2 and 14 years. Drissa is a farmer and is unschooled. He has been raising livestock for 10 years. He wishes to grow this activity and make it his main source of income.

He is alone on the photo with the ram because of COVID-19. He is takikng on this loan with the RMCR to buy weak animals (sheep and rams) to take care of them and feed them to se-sell them. He gets his stock in the neighboring villages and sells them in the local market. After the sale he can earn between 40 000 to 45 000 FCFA in profit for each sale and the profit after sale means that he can cover his children's expenses such as health and sanitation.

In spite of the difficulties linked to untimely illness of the animals, he plans to buy two bicycles for his pupils to make it easier for them to come to school.
