A loan helped to buy plywood, nails, paint, and boat glue for repairing her fishing boat, as well as assorted groceries for her store.

Lea's story

Lea lives in Concepcion, Iloilo. She is 48 years old, married, and has four children. To earn an income, she and her family engage in fishing. They have been in this livelihood for many years. In addition to fishing, she runs a small store to generate additional income.

Lea is now requesting a Kiva loan of 40,000 PHP from CEVI, a microfinance NGO in the Philippines. She will use the loan to buy plywood, nails, paint, and boat glue for repairing her fishing boat. In addition, she will buy assorted groceries for her store.

Lea wants to improve her livelihood in the future so that she can provide for her children’s education.
