La Chaleur Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pagnes and sewing material, which will strengthen her starting capital.

La Chaleur Group's story

Alexandrine is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and is the president of the village group "La Chaleur" [the heat]. She is 45 years old, married and has six children. Five of them still go to school and one is an adult. Her husband is a teacher.

Alexandrine is a seamstress. She started this enterprise 20 years ago with starting funds received from her husband. She later joined the Hekima program to support her business, and it grew progressively. With this loan, she is going to buy pagnes [traditional wrap cloth] and sewing material, which will strengthen her starting capital. The challenge of her occupation is due to unpaid debt.

She would like to keep her children in school and to be able to feed her family. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to non bankable business owners in the global crisis linked to COVID-19. The photo only shows the group leader due to social distancing measures.
