'Akanesi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy some more resources for her handicrafts business and to pay for the hire of a vehicle for transportation.

'Akanesi's story

This is 'Akanesi. She is a 39-year-old mother of two and a wife of a farmer. 'Akanesi and her husband run two businesses, which are handicrafts and a plantation. These two businesses are their main sources of income.

She makes kiekie and other products such as waist strings from raw materials such as hibiscus and coconut husks. For their plantation, they grow diverse types of crops, then sell them to earn money for their family. Her main marketing day is Saturday, when she sells their crops and some green leaves from her own tent in town. She also sells her handicrafts, which hang in her tent for display.

Their businesses do very well, and the only factors that usually affect their businesses are theft and lack of materials for her handicrafts. Giving her a loan will help her with buying enough materials for her business and also help with exporting their crops overseas. Their future plan is to export their crops overseas and earn enough money to build a new house for their family.
