Dolcie's story

Dolcie lives in a rural suburb near Port Vila, Vanuatu. Her community is quite large, and their main industry is tourism. Due to Covid-19, Vanuatu has banned tourists from entering the country and it has been hard to make a regular income. Dolcie is 60 years old with 3 grown children. She lives with her unemployed, eldest daughter and grandchildren.

She has requested a loan to help her pay for boxes of ice cream and cones which she can sell to her community during this hot season. She will use the revenue earned she to help her eldest daughter pay for her grandchildren's school fees. Dolcie loves her grandchildren and wants to help provide the best education for them. This is her second loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She successfully repaid her first loan on time. Dolcie feels empowered to expand her business and be a successful businesswoman.
