A loan helped to purchase retail goods to stock up her new shop to provide for her customers.

May's story

May lives in a residential area situated close to Port Vila city of Vanuatu. The community she lives in is one of the largest areas in town, 50% of its population are jobless and due to this, it can be hard to make steady revenue. May is 63 years of age and a fragile widow. She has five children who are all grown and have their own families . She is currently residing in her own home with two of her sons and their families.

May has requested a loan to purchase retail goods so she can stock up her new shop so she can provide for her valuable customers. She had opened up a shop in the early 90s due to the fact that she lives in an area downhill and most of the main shops in her community are uphill. But unfortunately had to close it down due to her late husband's illness and loss. Now May feels it is time to step up and re-open her shop, her hopes and dreams is to open a larger shop. With the revenue, she will use it to build a better shop in front her home.
