Rosas De Villalinda Patzun Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fabric, thread and colorful traditional belts.

Rosas De Villalinda Patzun Group's story

Vibrantly embroidered traditional Maya textiles are among the most beautiful in the world. They are treasured by the wearer and the collector!

Blanca, a 33 year old married mother of 3 children, embroiders these textile treasures every day after preparing breakfast and finishing her household work. First, she prepares the threads and then begins to embroider.

Blanca shares that it is time for her to replenish her supplies.
She is requesting her 3rd loan to buy a large quantity of fabric, thread and traditional belts. With the holidays fast approaching, she wants to have plenty of supplies on hand.

Blanca and 8 other ladies, who live in the department/state of Chimaltenango, are members of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Rosas de Villalinda Patzun”. They look forward to their monthly educational training sessions, part of the “Microcredit Plus” program of loans, education and health care services. They learn how to keep track of their business expenses, take inventory and plan for the future. They understand the importance of over-indebtedness, savings, prioritizing expenses and the use of technology (Facebook, WhatsApp).

The ladies also learn about women’s issues, family matters and healthy habits. Right now with the pandemic, they learn about the importance of wearing masks, keeping social distance and hand washing. Every two months, they have access to health care services.

KIVA investors, partnering with Friendship Bridge, are real lifelines. Thank you!
