A loan helped to buy wholesale fabric and dressmaking supplies like thread, lace, zippers, etc.

Omar Jose's story

Omar is a 45-year-old small-businessman who lives in the town of Barranquilla. He earns a living making clothing. He started his business with a sewing machine that his mother gave him. Thanks to the fruits of his labor as a nursing assistant, he saved up to purchase an industrial machine and thus has maintained his own business with his wife who supports him in this work.

He makes unisex clothing, baby clothing, cocktail dresses, casual wear, and school uniforms. Due to the crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic, his sales dropped 90%. This is why he joined the "Barranquila Responde" program with the aim of mitigating the crisis a little bit and applying for a Kiva loan; his first financing from Fundación Santo Domingo. His goal is to revive his services and buy wholesale fabric and dressmaking supplies like thread, buttons, lace, zippers, etc.

Help him with this loan. It will be a success.
