Ketty Janeth's story

Ketty Janeth, ages 36, is in a common law relationship. She has three children, age 19, 12, and 7, who attend university, high school, and primary school. Her partner works in construction. They live in Portoviejo, which was affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016, and now with the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is rich in production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

In her house and as a street vendor, Ketty Janeth sells sheets and many brands of make-up. She sells on credit and collects weekly. Also, on the weekends she prepares ceviches, empanadas, and fried bananas. She takes advantage of a sports field near her house, and many people come to play sports in the afternoons and evenings.

The health crisis at first was very bad because she could not sell, but now little by little she is reactivating to continue earning income.

This loan is to buy orders of sheets and make-up. Her dream is to have a shop to continue making her sales, and that her family will have good health.
