Soklim's story

Soklim, age 45, is married and lives with her family in the area of Dang Tong district, Kampot province. She has been a farmer and working in the agricultural business for many years. Soklim and her husband are facing the challenges of low yields due to pest and disease attacks on cultivated crops and poor levels of mechanized agricultural activities so product processing and storage becomes of crucial importance. Agricultural produce are an essential part and means of survival for her family members, as it plays a great role in almost all aspect of their life. Her husband earns additional income from working at construction sites, where he performs physical tasks such as cleaning, removing debris, loading and unloading materials, assembling and disassembling temporary structures, digging trenches, compacting earth, reading and following construction plans.

Due to a shortage of money, Soklim is asking for a loan to buy construction supplies to renovate her old home. She hopes that, through the help of this loan, she can provide everyone in her family with a suitable place to live and comfortable living conditions. She will have enough funds to purchase construction supplies such as bricks, cement, zinc and other necessary items as well as pay for labors costs. She believes that through her hard work and perseverance she will be able to attain a better standard of living someday.
