A loan helped buy a baby buffalo.

Na Tau 40 Group's story

Ms. Nhung, 29 years old, is a Thai ethnic woman, who is married and has two sons: an older son is in 2nd grade, and the youngest son is in kindergarten. Her family lives in a small house on stilts in a poor village in Dien Bien province.

Her husband is a mason and is the main income generator for the family. She does some work to generate additional income such as: growing rice and canna edulis ker, raising pigs and chickens. She is very happy that she successfully repaid the previous 7 rounds of loans at the Anh Chi Em program. So, she decided to get an 8th loan from the program to invest in buying a baby buffalo, expanding breeding. Although she has no experience in raising buffalo, she believes that with the technical support from the program's staff, she will raise the buffalo with the right techniques to help the buffalo grow fast, healthy and reproduce well. With the interest, she will use it to pay for her children's school fees and cover her life.
