Mujeres Emprendedoras Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fruit, vegetables and new clothes for the Christmas season.

Mujeres Emprendedoras Group's story

Meet Maria Virginia. Maria Virginia (pictured in the red shirt with floral skirt) is 48 years old and single. She has had 11 children. The oldest is 32 and her 13-year-old twins are in their first year of secondary school. Maria is a member of the Mujeres Emprendedoras de Pro Mujer community bank in Chinandega, Nicaragua.

Maria dreams of her children learning a trade. Even though she is poor, schooling is what the legacy she is providing for them.

For 30 years she has been a salesperson. She needs this loan to buy fruits and vegetables to sell on foot, and clothing for the Christmas season. "I manage money well; I invest, reap the profits, and repay the loan. My goal is to better myself," she says.

Maria is very grateful because the loans she's received have helped her to better herself and her family. In fact, one of her children is now an English teacher. Bravo to the warrior women and mothers like the members of the Mujeres Emprendadores of Chinandega association!
