Lamoussa Salamata's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy 40 spools of thread and some dyes for weaving traditional 'pagne' cloth.

Lamoussa Salamata's story

Lamoussa Salamata is the mother of five children of whom three are in school. She has been a weaver of traditional 'pagnes' [the colorful wax cloth of western Africa] for over fifteen years in her home in an outlying district of the capital.

She is on her 7th loan cycle at the microfinance institution YIKRI and paid back her initial Kiva loan without a problem. She repays her loans properly and is requesting a new loan to purchase 40 spools of thread and some dyes for weaving ‘pagne’ cloth and satisfying customer demands.

She plans to use the earnings for reinvesting in her business and to save money for improving her family's living conditions. She says thank you to Kiva lenders and urges everybody to guard against the Covid-19 virus.
