Elisa Alejandrina's story

Elisa is a 74-year-old woman, a microentrepreneur with over 30 years of experience selling clothing, shoes and accessories. She is separated, did not have children, and lives with two nephews in a house she owns. She has maintained stable finances based on her business which she does in cash and in small amounts.

She has a sales kiosk located in the center of Barranquilla which she has maintained for around 35 years. Her sales have reduced almost 80% due to the isolation generated by COVID-19. For this reason, her expenses and fixed costs have accumulated as she had no alternative income in her business.

For this reason, she joined the Barranquilla Responde program, led by the Barranquilla city government. She asks for a Kiva loan, her first financing through Fundación Santo Domingo, to manage to leverage her business and pay bills from providers and unities, primarily. Support her in her loan, it will be a success.
