Bertha Piedad's story

Bertha Piedad and her family live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the April 16, 2016 earthquake and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is rich in production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

Bertha Piedad is a seamstress who has a small sewing shop in her house where she makes garments such as children's clothing, dresses, blouses, and other items. During the worldwide crisis, she has had financial difficulties. At first, it was very bad because she could not run her business and her clients could not visit. Now, little by little, she is reactivating it to be able to continue generating income. In her family, two brothers died of Covid-19 and one son-in-law was sick but is recuperating slowly.

This loan is to buy fabric, ribbons, lace, and other materials. Her dream is that her family will have good health.
