Amélia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a 5-ton truck to help her to distribute her production to the market.

Amélia's story

Amélia is a 53-year-old Mozambican woman. She lives in Sussundenga, Manica province, with her family.

She is a big commercial farmer in her community. Amélia produces a variety of crops from veggies to grains. She also helps a lot of smallholder farmers in her community, facilitating the access of good seeds and fertilizers and, most importantly, the access to a fixed market.

In March 2019, Amélia was deeply affected by the cyclone Idai where she completely lost her production. But she was resilient and brave enough to start over again.

Today, Amélia has a diversity of clients and institutions where she can sell her products. Her main challenge is the lack of transport to collect and distribute the products. Amélia has a small truck to help her, but due to the huge of crops and emerging demand, she needs undoubtedly to acquire a new big truck. This is why she is requesting a third Kiva loan, to buy a 5-ton truck to help her to distribute her production to the market.
