A loan helped to buy fish to sell.

Priscila Isabel's story

Priscila Isabel is a small-businesswoman who lives with her family in the municipality of Campo De La Cruz. She has a husband and is the mother of 3 children. She has more than 10 years of experience with her business selling fish. She started selling fish at wholesale and retail, because when she was very young she learned this business from her brothers and she became involved in this sector. She spent a lot of time working in this activity, which is how she got the experience she needed to launch her own business.

Thanks to some savings that she had, she started selling all types of fish with some freezers that she bought. Today, this business is a fundamental part of her finances, because with it she generates the income she needs to support her household. Her customers are mainly neighbors, friends, relatives, passers-by, and independent sellers.

Because of the pandemic, her sales and income were affected, but thanks to the reopening of the economy her sales are increasing. She is seeking to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on her business by applying for a Kiva loan through the Fundacion Santo Domingo.

Priscila Isabel will use this loan to buy fish such as: bocachico, mojarra, mullet, and shrimp. She will also buy corn and a new fridge. She dreams of giving her family a better quality of life, and to do this she needs an injection of capital to strengthen her business plan and increase her profitability. Support her with this loan, she will be a success!
