A loan helped Buy supplies to make carob fruit jelly.

Eulalia's story

Eulalia, age 42, lives with her husband and their two children in the Narihualá village in the Catacaos district, Piura province, Piura region. It is located 3 hours and 30 minutes from the city of Chiclayo. The desire to get her children ahead drove Eulalia and her husband to work selling “algarrobina” (jelly made from a base of carob fruit) and honey. She currently sells this product at the bus terminals in the city of Piura. Her husband sells it at the city of Chimbote. They make the algarrobina in their house, and they get the honey from beekeepers in the area. Both products are bottled to later be sold to the public. Eulalia has previously worked with a Kiva loan. She used her first loan to expand her business by purchasing more honey in order to start selling it in other districts. She is currently requesting 800 PEN to buy supplies for making more algarrobina. Eulalia is a mother who gives all of herself everyday in order to keep getting ahead and to progress together with her family. She is grateful for the Kiva loans. She tells us that, thanks to her first loan, she was able to have better sales. She was also able to get more orders for her product.
