A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa making business.

Malia's story

This is Malia. She is 16 years old, and she is a mother to one child and a wife to a farmer. They live together with her parents at her parent's house.

Malia and her mother join a group of women in their village so they can be able to make tapas and sell them to earn money for their family. She also prepares soft tapas to sell at the local market.

Malia's mother pushed her to run her business so she can be responsible for her family. Even though she became a mother at a very young age, her mother supports her to make a living. Malia applied for a loan hoping to buy mulberry for her tapa making business in order to make enough tapas to sell. A stable family is her dream where she and her husband support each other in building their family.
