Aisha's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay her children's school fees.

Aisha's story

Aisha is married and lives with her family in a remote village in the north Nigeria state of Kaduna. She's a hardworking maize farmer who works on her farm every day.

She'll receive cash, known as a harvest advance loan, equal to the price of maize at harvest, allowing her to meet costs of pressing needs, like paying school fees.

She'll also get crucial harvest support, including renting a threshing machine, which will eliminate the common practice of using family labor. This will save Aisha and her family 30 hours of manual labor per 100kg bag of maize, giving her children more time to study.

Babban Gona will also support her by storing the harvested maize to sell later in the year so she doesn't have to forfeit profit by selling her maize at low harvest prices. With her loan, Aisha will be able to pay her children's tuition for higher quality education in order to secure high-paying jobs in the future.
