A loan helped to buy chicks for her aviculture business (poultry breeding).

01_Manko Liggey Mboro Group's story

This group has been established in January 2016 and consists of fifteen courageous women. They live in the same area and have good relationships based on trust and support. They are involved in various revenue-generating activities.

Ndéye Émilie, the representative of the group, is 47 years old and is sitting at the far left in the photo raising her hand. She is married and the mother of four girls, all of whom are still in school.

Mrs. Émilie works in aviculture (poultry breeding) and also sells ice cream. She has been working from her home, where her chicken coop is located, for six years. With this first loan, she will buy 100 chicks, 4 sacks of feed for start-up, 8 sacks of feed for growth and vaccines for her farm. Thanks to steady production, her business is doing well and her customer base is increasing.

She will use the profits from this loan to expand her businesses. She also plans to buy a freezer to preserve more chickens and hence increase her production.
