A loan helped to build a safe latrine at home.

Kan's story

Kan, age 40, is married and has one child who' s attending school. She lives with her family in the area of Tram Kak district, Takeo province. She earns a living by selling food at her home. Everyday, she gets up early in the morning to purchase ingredients for cooking food to sell such as meat, vegetables, fish, groceries, produce, and other necessary things.

Kan's husband helps her financially through his occupation as a hair dresser. His duties include talking to clients about what they want, suggesting style ideas, cutting and styling hair, coloring, curling/straightening hair, giving advice on minor hair and scalp problems, taking payments, ordering stock and promoting products to customers, and keeping up to date with new trends, techniques and hair products. Currently, their house doesn't have a safe latrine for use at home, so they can not provide a sanitation to clients.

Kan is requesting a loan to build a safe latrine at home. In this way, she hopes to increase the value of her home, protect the environment, and improve sanitation by ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family. With the support of this loan, she will be able to purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement to build a safe latrine and pay for the cost of labor.

Kan sends thanks to all lenders for contributing their funds to help a poor fellow like her.
