A loan helped to stock food for the restaurant.

Margaret's story

Margaret, mother and caretaker of eight, is an experienced and skilled Kenyan entrepreneur who owns and runs a restaurant in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. She started it in 2010 to provide a stable livelihood for her family, and over time the business has experienced steady growth. She's well known in the camp and has amassed a loyal base of clients the past few years.

The business is strategically located to serve both the refugees and host community with quality, well-prepared food at an affordable price. With growth, the restaurant has provided employment to seven individuals.

Margaret received holistic entrepreneurship training with AEC, geared toward financial management and increasing sales. She's requesting a loan to expand the business even further, by increasing working capital to add food stock. This will ensure she continues meeting the ever-growing demand for well-prepared food at the camp, while at the same time enabling her to support her family.
