Svetlana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to procure cattle, goats and milking equipment to expand her farm's capacities.

Svetlana's story

Svetlana is 47 years old, married and has a daughter and a son. She is from Tocuz, a village in the Causeni region of Moldova.

Svetlana and her husband began farming many years ago. This is a family business, and she cultivates her own land as well as her father's and grandparents' land, totalling 6 ha. Part of her harvest is used as animal feed and the balance is sold. She also raises cattle, pigs, poultry, and goats and sells dairy products, beef, pork and goat meat and goat cheese at the local market, earning her extra income. Finally, she manages to work at a food station in town.

Svetlana and her husband want to increase the number of animals on their farm in order to increase their income. She also wants to buy milking machines to make her work easier and minimize expenses. She is therefore applying for a Kiva loan to buy cattle, goats and milking equipment, leading to an increase in income and an improvement in her family's living conditions.
