Sokha's story

Sokha, age 56, is married and has four children. She lives with her family located in the area of Treang district, Takeo province. She works as a government officer in her village and her husband is a farmer.

She usually spends her spare time helping her husband in cultivating of rice crop and other agriculture produce seasonally. Sokha and her husband work more hours everyday at the rice farm in supplies enough seeds and fertilizers. If they stand to process their food crop regularly, then more food will be in their food reserve which is an aid in adaptation and mitigation of climate change. With this hard situation in earning to support daily costs, their children work in the small factory as garment workers and some of them work in construction.

Because of the shortage in her finances, she has applied for a loan in the amounting of KHR 8,000,000 to pay for landfilling to cover the mud around her house. With this loan support, she can pay for landfilling. This will provide her family members with good environment, fresh air, protection from illness and living in good conditions.

In the future, she aims to renovate her old house and purchase more land for agricultural purposes. She sends thanks to all lenders who have contributed their funds to help poor fellow like her and, promises to pay loan back on time as scheduled.
