Gladys's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying more chicks and feed.

Gladys's story

Gladys is a 28-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and two children in the Mpika district in Zambia. Gladys is a poultry farmer and operates a business selling the poultry she raises.

Gladys is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business by buying more chicks and feed. The loan will empower Gladys to hire staff needed to keep her business running smoothly and allow her to meet her customers' needs. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family's basic needs and pay her children's school fees.

Gladys will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her business.
