Mariela Ramona's story

Mariela Ramona and her family live in the parish of Calderón de Portoviejo know for its cuisine, traditional blood sausage and longaniza (spicy sausage), peanut butter, salprieta ( a side dish/condiment), peanut caramel, salted peanuts, ground peanuts, peanut flour and other derivatives.
Mariela Ramona has her business in her home making and selling cakes and artisanal sweets such as biscuits made with yuca starch, meringue, egg sweets, crystalised sweet potatoes etc. She sells to order and delivers to peoples homes or her clients come to her house to buy or collect. The health crisis was very bad for her initially as she was unable to sell her products. However now she is slowly reopening in order to continue to generate an income of her own. This loan is to buy flour, eggs, sugar, baking tins, milk, butter etc. She would like to have a retail unit in order to set up her own cake shop.
