Ann's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve her tea farming business.

Ann's story

Ann is a 38-year-old mother of two children living in Kerugoya, a remote area located on a gentle plain before the ascent into the central highlands of Kenya. She is a mixed dairy and tea farmer who injects passion and determination into her work.

Ann is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she plans to use to improve her tea farming business. The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, thereby guaranteeing their survival. Ann is hopeful that Kiva lenders will respond positively to her loan request.
