Eunice's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her two businesses by purchasing more clothes to sell as well as feed for her chickens.

Eunice's story

Eunice is a 30-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband, two children and her two siblings in the Mansa district in Zambia. Eunice sells women’s clothes and shoes in her small shop at the local market. She also raises and sells chickens.

With her first Kiva loan, she replenished her inventory which subsequently increased her sales. Eunice is requesting a second loan in order to expand her two businesses by purchasing more clothes to sell as well as feed for her chickens. She plans to use the profit she earns to provide food for her family and to pay school fees for her siblings.

Eunice will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a Camfed Learner Guide, facilitating sessions from Camfed’s My Better World Program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school. She will also conduct home visits to learners who are at risk of dropping out of school to connect with them and offer the support they need to stay in school.
