01_Saly Mbambara Group's story

These two brave women have been members of the group set up in their neighbourhood since December 2011; they have a good relationship and support each other. Their main line of business is trading.

Ndéye Fatou, 51, is the representative on the right and dressed in blue. She is married and is the mother of seven children, including one daughter. The three youngest are still in school.

Ndéye Fatou runs a retail business, selling sheets and various goods. She buys her products from the markets in the capital and resells them in her neighbourhood. She has over seven years’ experience in this business.

She is going to buy 100 bedsheets, 3 dozen dresses and bowls that she will resell in cash and on credit. Her business works well because her prices are affordable and her profits allow her to support her parents and help her husband take care of the family.
