Puente De Las Rosas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy personal care products and shoes to resell.

Puente De Las Rosas Group's story

Selling personal care products by catalogue sales has enabled 54-year-old Rosa to create income for her large family. She has 7 children who are now over the age of 18 and all completed elementary school! Rosa is pleased to help her husband cover household expenses.

After planning carefully, Rosa is requesting her 1st Kiva loan to buy new products that she will advertise for sale, as well as buy essential items like toothbrushes, tooth paste, floss, deodorants, soap, shampoo, and shoes for women, men and children.

Rosa looks forward to the monthly meetings of her Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Puente de las Rosas” or “Bridge of Roses” located in the department/state of Suchitepequez. She is the President of the group that has 6 members. She calls the meetings to order, the ladies make loan payments and then participate in educational training sessions, part of the “Microcredit Plus” program of loans, education and health care services. The women learn about effective business practices that help them with their convenience stores, and sales of tortillas, basic grains and personal care products. Other topics include financial planning (savings, investing). health (nutrition, hygiene, the use of medicinal plants) family matters and women’s issues. Every 2 months, they can access basic health exams like Pap smears y blood pressure checks.

Rosa and her friends send their gratitude to Kiva investors. Thank you to each of you!
