A loan helped to buy farming inputs that she plans to use to improve her farm production, which has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Catherine's story

Catherine is a 48-year-old mother of one child. She lives in Chuka, a remote area located on a gentle plain before the ascent into the central highlands of Kenya. She is a mixed farmer with ten years of farming experience. Through farming, Catherine has turned her life around.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Catherine is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs that she plans to use to improve her farm production, which has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Be inspired to support Catherine with a loan today.
