Maria Inés's story

Maria Inés, age 29, is a small businesswoman who lives in the Soledad municipality. She lives with her husband. She has had her commercial activity, a stand where she sells alcoholic drinks, for two years. Before devoting herself to this commercial activity she worked as an employee for an establishment. Upon seeing the earnings that this activity generated, she decided to open her own.

It was then that she took her savings and bought a small quantity of beer in order to analyze how the demand would be. She started by selling to close friends, neighbors, and family. As time passed, new customers arrived. Therefore, she saw the need to increase her inventory in order to supply what was required. This commercial activity has allowed this small businesswoman to maintain her business and her household.

However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that appeared on a worldwide level, her work level declined due to health and safety issues, and her earnings decreased drastically. That is the reason that she joined the Atlántico Responde program in order to request her first Kiva loan with the Fundación Santo Domingo. Her objective in doing so is to buy beer, soft drinks, water, energy drinks, ice, and wine. Please help her with her business loan.
