Caroline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds and fertilizers to improve her crop output.

Caroline's story

Caroline is a repeat Kiva borrower who is a 55-year-old mother of two children. She lives in Chuka, a remote area located on a gentle plain before the ascent into the central highlands of Kenya. Caroline works with plenty of determination so that she can achieve her dreams. On her farm, she grows crops and raises livestock. She also earns extra income from a personal business.

In the modern world, agriculture has become exceedingly dynamic, which requires upgraded inputs for effective production. Although Caroline has been earning profits from farming, not everything has been easy for this humble and industrious mother. Her farm has not been producing much of a harvest lately due to a lack of fertilizer and good seeds, as well as the presence of pests and diseases. For this reason, she is seeking a loan to buy seeds and fertilizers to improve her crop output. This will help this single mother earn profits to support her family. Caroline is very thankful for this gesture of goodwill in her life.
