Allen's story

Allen was born into a humble family in Nyakabirizi and was raised by her aunt who could not afford to pay her school fees, which prompted her to get married at an early age. Married life was not easy for her because her husband was a farmer who was not concerned about providing an education for their children. Allen decided to start a small grocery business and engage in mixed farming, which includes raising pigs, so that she could earn some money. As a result, she was able to pay school fees for her children and also build a decent house for her family.

Allen hopes to expand both her grocery and pig businesses so that she can have more than 20 pigs within the next three years. She appreciates having the support of the lenders on her journey to financial independence.
