Lom's story

Lom, age 49, is married and has five children. Two of his oldest children are married and live separately.

Lom lives with his family in the area of Kralanh district, Siem Reap province. He and his wife are working as paid labor in the agriculture sector.

He has a good skill in processing food crops, collecting and collating the data of agriculture product which are harvested from the farm.

Due to the impact of Covid-19, Lom and his wife were faced with unemployment because of the low demand for agriculture product from local traders and reductions.

With this difficult situation, Lom has applied a loan in the amount of KHR 4,000,000 to open a small grocery store and to purchase merchandise such as spices, shampoos, soap, canned items, snack food, soft drinks and miscellaneous products to sell in his store.

He hopes to make his store full of groceries to sell that will satisfy his customers’ needs. Through income he will earn from his business, he will provide his children's basic needs in school and their daily food.
