These seven women belong to their 'banc villageois' which was started in December 2001. They all live in the same village. They are friends and share solid values of parenting, friendship and solidarity. They are strong and dynamic and have repaid several loans successfully. Their principle activity is commerce.

Fatou Adama is the representative of the group, on the right hand side of the picture, with her hand raised. She is 56 years old, married, with eight children, 4 boys and 4 girls. Three of them are still at school. She is a strong woman who works hard.

She runs a small business of selling a variety of fruits, which she buys from wholesalers and then sells by the side of a major highway, She has been doing this successfully for 20 years. With the loan, every week, she will buy different fruits like oranges, melons, mangoes, which she will then sell with a mark-up. She runs her business very well and has a good customer base.

From the profits, she will increase her savings and meet the needs, with her husband, of the family.
