A loan helped to pay for a child's education.

Kumushai's story

This caring mother is Kumushai, who is 44 years old, married, and raising 3 children. She has a high school education, and is hard-working and responsible by nature. As their primary source of income, she and her husband have been farming for the last 10 years; her children also help around the farm. Her farm has 7 cows, 15 sheep, and a 1.94-hectare plot of land where she grows organic apricots and rice. She also receives additional income from her job as a teacher in the local school.

Her younger son studies in a lyceum. Each year she pays for his studies, and the time has come to pay for his education so that he can keep his place in the school. For this reason, she is requesting a loan of 250,000 soms (KGS) from Kiva to pay for her son's school contract. The loan will help give her son a quality education and find the work of his dreams.

The loan is given in 3 installments, with a first installment of 80,000 soms (KGS) and later installments of 85,000 soms (KGS).
