A loan helped to buy mullbery for her tapa making business.

Melevea's story

Melevea is a 53 year old mother of eight grown ups. Her husband works at the government, and they live at their own home in the island of 'Eua.

Melevea joins a group of women in their village, and together they make tapas once in every week. They leave the rest of the week days for family and other important activities.

Once in every week they make tapas, not just one but many. When her tapas are finished, she self-designs it then sells it out overseas by her daughter. She has been in this business for more than a decade, and her family benefited from her business.

Even though her husband works and earns money for the family, Melevea still insists on running her own business and making her own money. She is hoping to use her loan to buy mulberry for her business to continue on operating.
