A loan helped to purchase foodstuffs: flour, milk, sugar and other assorted items to increase her business.

Abibatu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 26-year-old Abibatu from Wilberforce branch. She is married with a four-year-old child who is attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Abibatu runs a retail business selling fast food and other assorted items. She has been in this business for eight years now. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during COVID-19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase food stuffs: flour, milk, sugar and other assorted items to increase her business. Abibatu says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family. In the future, she would like to establish on a larger scale. She says thanks to Brac and Kiva for their support.
