Millicent's story

Millicent is a 66-year old mother of three children living in Eldoret, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis when violence occurred. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer with five years of experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing lots of uncertainty and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo in partnership with Kiva, is on the front line of combating this pandemic by supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period.

Millicent is seeking a loan to buy farming inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family. Support her at this time when the world is focused on combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
