01_Dmbodokhane Group's story

This group is made up of five women and is part of the Banc Villageois created in May 2013. They live in the same village and share good relationships both with their families and neighbours and support each other. Their main activity is trading. They have reimbursed several loans successfully.

Sokhna, 57 years old, is the representative, standing on the left of the photo with her hand raised. She is married, the mother of seven children, three of whom are girls and one who is still at school.

Sokhna runs a business selling cereals which she buys in the weekly markets and re-sells in the village. She has more than 10 years of experience in this business. During the winter months she tends her field.

With her loan she plans to buy 1000kgs de millet, 500kgs of corn and pay the transport costs. Her business is going well since she manages to sell all her products in the season where there are shortages.

With the income, she plans to increase her savings and help her husband with the household expenses.
