01_Dmbodokhane Group's story

This group consisting of five woman arises from the "banc villageois" which was started in May 2013. They all live in the same village and have good family and neighbourly relations and links of solidarity. Their main business is retail. They have successfully paid back several loans.

Mrs. Fatou, the leader of the group, is 63 years old. She is standing on the left side of the picture with her hand raised. She is a widow and has five boys and three girls, all of whom are adults.

Mrs. Fatou sells peanuts. She buys her supplies at the market and works from home. She has over 10 years of experience in that business. With her loan, she wants to buy 500 kgs of groundnuts, sacks of coal, salt and bags. She does well in her business because she roasts good peanuts. She wants to use her profits to increase her savings and to help her children with their family expenses.
