Latu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more stock for her retail store and to buy enough mulberry for her tapa making business.

Latu's story

This mother's name is Latu. She is 62 years old and married with eight grown-up children. Only their four youngest remain at their home.

Latu runs a business of tapa making and a retail store. She joins a group of women in their village, and together they make tapas once in every week.

Her daughter helps her with preparing her soft tapa for her tapa making business. She sells her tapas mainly to customers overseas.

Latu also runs her retail store at their own home. It is more like a family business because her grown-up children as well as her husband contribute in being responsible for the store.

The idea of putting up a retail store hit Latu when she witnessed the scarcity of resources for their village. There was only one retail store in their village, and it did not satisfy the needs and wants of the people.

Therefore she put up a store and has run it successfully since then. She applied for a loan to buy enough stock and enough mulberry for her businesses.
