A loan helped to buy chicken breeds.

Nua Ngam 24 Group's story

Ms. Hinh is 26 years old, married and has two children, a son who is in the third grade and a daughter who is in preschool. Her family consists of six people living in a small house on stilts in a poor village in Dien Bien province.

Born and growing up on agricultural land, she and her husband rely on farming works such as growing rice, maize, cassava, vegetables, and herding buffalo for plowing. Farming is very hard work, and they sometimes face difficulties such as the failure of crops or high maize and cassava prices. However, she still holds out with her job and works very hard to earn money to cover living expenses to send her children to school.

She always wanted to expand her husbandry to improve her family's economy, but due to a lack of capital, she decided to get a second round loan from the Anh Chi Em program to invest in buying chicken breeds. She hopes that this investment of low capital and a short chicken raising time will reduce her risk and improve her chance of success.
