Álvaro's story

Álvaro is a 26-year-old microentrepreneur, a resident of the city of Barranquilla where he lives with his family. He has had a hardware business for 5 years where he sells products such as battery-operated lamps, drills, wrench sets, ladders, pliers, measuring tapes, hammers, etc. He began the business with his own savings, which he began with the help of his sibling, who currently is a funding partner. Among the products which his business has been able to develop is the sale of motorcycle parts, oil, etc. It is a business which has given him the opportunity to get ahead with his objectives and goals. In addition, there is a technician at his business who repairs motorcycles.

But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which appeared at a global level, his work level has dropped due to biosafety reasons and his income diminished drastically. For this reason, he joined the Atlántico Responde program to ask for his first Kiva loan, through Fundación Santo Domingo, with the objective of investing in the purchase of tires, rims, brakes, seats, bicycle tires, bands, and oil. Support him in his business loan.
